Okay listen, I'm not saying you need to be clothed at all, but having some coverage will allow you to share more of your birth photos, if that's even what you want to do. For some, covering up may help them feel safer in the birth space. Your birth is going to be about what makes YOU feel the best. Here are some tips from a birth photography stand point that will help your images pop and provide you comfort while in labor.
A cozy robe
The sky is the limit here. Neutrals & earth tones are a safe choice, but a patterned choice with florals or geometric shapes could make for a fun pop! Added points for a robe with pockets; these can hold a tens unit, chapstick, comb, or honey sticks!
Girl, Put your hair up
Labor truly is like running a marathon, and the last thing you want to worry about is your hair sticking to your sweaty face and pulling your focus. Bonus, messy buns are totally cute and you can let your hair down for the sweet postpartum snuggles.
A cotton Night gown
Something that is soft and allows for movement is important as you may be swaying, squatting, bouncing, and making many trips to the toilet. This option provides a lot of coverage and can be gathered at the waist when the time comes to monitor baby or push.
A nursing bra
Find yourself a bra that is comfortable and makes you feel good. A nursing bra is especially helpful once baby arrives. Brightly colored bras can look so beautiful in photos, especially when in contrast to very blue birth tubs.
Boy shorts
Let's face it, at some point everything on your lower half will have to come off. Well, except for socks, you could keep those on if you wanted. Boy shorts just feel like a nice supportive hug.
Birth is unpredictable, but we can make choices which help us to be as comfortable as possible. Hope this helps!
